BIOGRAPHY
Connor McGovern was born on April 27th, 1993, in Fargo, North Dakota. He is a guard in the NFL.
In College McGovern appeared in 49 games (40 starts) for the University of Missouri, helping the team to two Southeast Conference East Division Championships. He started all 12 games at left tackle as a senior and set school weight-room records in the squat (690 pounds for five repetitions). He opened all 14 games as a junior, starting the first four games at right tackle before switching back to right guard for the final 10 contests. McGovern started all 14 games for the Tigers at right guard as a sophomore, playing a role in an offense that ranked 16th nationally in total offense (490.7 ypg) and 13th in scoring (39.1 ppg). He appeared in nine contests as a true freshman, seeing action at guard and on kick protection units.
McGovern was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 144th overall pick. After not playing in his rookie season, McGovern played in 15 games, starting the final five games of the season at right guard in place of the injured Ronald Leary. In 2018, McGovern was named the starting right guard to begin the season as Ronald Leary was moved to left guard after beating out incumbent starter Max Garcia. He was moved over to starting center in Week 11 following a season-ending injury to Matt Paradis, and started there the rest of the season.
On April 2, 2020, McGovern signed a three-year, $27 million contract with the New York Jets. He started all 16 games at center in 2020.
McGovern re-signed with the Jets on April 24, 2023.
