Cole Toner was born on March 13, 1994, in Greenwood, Indiana. He is a center in the National Football League. Toner attended Roncalli High School and played college football at Harvard.

During high school, Toner had 32 tackles, two sacks, and an interception during his senior year. During his college career, Toner started at right tackle for the Harvard Crimson for three years and was a four-year varsity letterman. He was selected First Team All-Ivy League in 2014 and 2015. In 2015, he was chosen to Lindy's Preseason All-FCS First Team, the All-New England Team, the STATS FCS All-American First Team, and the AP FCS All-American First Team. He was also nominated to the Fall 2015 Academic All-Ivy Team and was a semifinalist for the 2015 National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy (the academic Heisman).

The Arizona Cardinals drafted toner in the fifth round in the 2016 NFL Draft. Cole Toner has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.

On November 7, 2017, Toner was signed to the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Chargers on January 1, 2018. In 2021 he signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans.
