BIOGRAPHY
Charles Washington was born on March 10th, 1993, in Colorado. He is a safety for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.
He attended Crespi Carmelite high school where he tallied 86 tackles as a senior in 2010. He had 57 solos tackles and 29 assisted tackles and recorded a season-high nine tackles in one game. He intercepted five passes and rushed for 123 yards on seven carries. He recorded four touchdowns and led Celts to an 8-4 finish in 2010 and was named the league's defensive MVP.
He played college football for the Bulldogs at Fresno State University; in 2011 he redshirted. In 2012 he was named to the Mountain West All-Academic team. He played in 12 of the 13 games on the season and recorded 13 tackles; he had two pass defenses on the season.
In 2013 he was named to the Mountain West All-Academic team and started all 13 games for the Bulldogs, 11 at strong safety and two at corner. He was fourth on the team with 71 tackles; his eight tackles for a loss ranked in a tie for third on the team.
In 2014 he started all 14 games including seven at cornerback, six at safety and one at nickel. He ranked fourth on the team in tackles with 78. He posted five tackles for loss on the season and registered a career-high, two interceptions. He earned the Mountain West All-Academic Team selection.
During the 2015 season, he started the first four games of the season at cornerback before moving to strong safety where he started seven of the final eight games. He posted 40 tackles on the year and six pass defenses, which tied for the second-most on the team.
Joined the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2016 out of Fresno State and earned a spot on the team's practice squad for the duration of his rookie season.
He signed a reserve/future contract with the Lions on January 9, 2017. In 2018, Washington played in 13 games.
