BIOGRAPHY
Cameron Amir Sutton was born on February 27th, 1995, in Jonesboro, Georgia. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
During high school, Sutton was rated three-star by Rivals and Scout (No. 40 cornerback), three-star by 247Sports (No. 27 athlete, No. 49 prospect in Georgia), and three-star by ESPN (No. 46 prospect in Georgia, No. 65 wide receiver). He racked up 1,396 all-purpose yards as a senior receiver and returner for the Cardinals and scored 19 touchdowns as a senior.
Sutton played for the University of Tennessee football team from 2013 to 2016. In 2013 Sutton started in all 12 games as a true freshman and recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, and a touchdown. He started all 13 games in the 2014 season, recording 37 tackles and three interceptions. In 2015 Sutton started in all 13 games as a junior. He was ranked first in the nation in punt return average at 18.7, had 25 punt returns for 467 yards and two touchdowns and made 28 tackles with 3.0 TFLs along with an interception, six pass break-ups and two forced fumbles on defense. In 2016 Sutton finished his career as Tennessee's all-time leader in passes defended with 37 (30 pass breakups, seven interceptions). A four-year starter at cornerback for the Vols started all 45 games in his career.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Sutton in the third round (94th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. On June 13, 2017, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Sutton to a four-year contract.
Sutton signed a three year deal with the Detroit Lions on March 13, 2022.
