Brent Urban was born on May 5th, 1991, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He is a defensive end in the National Football League.

Urban was an imposing figure at left wing for one of North America’s top junior hockey teams, the Triple-A Mississauga Ice Dogs. His teammates included NHL players Ryan Ellis (Nashville Predators), Casey Cizikas (New York Islanders) and Jamie Devane (Ontario Reign, the AHL affiliate of the LA Kings). He was selected as the 15th-overall pick in the 2013 Canadian Football League Draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but opted to pursue an NFL career instead. In 2017, he started three games and posted 4 tackles for a unit that led the league in both takeaways (34) and INTs (22).

Urban was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (134th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

In his first NFL game in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns, Urban blocked a potential game-winning field goal as time expired, while teammate Will Hill recovered it and returned it for the game-winning touchdown.

In 2016, Urban played in all 16 games, recording 10 tackles and two passes defended. On March 6, 2018, Urban signed a one-year contract extension with the Ravens for $2.35 million. He started all 16 games in 2018, recording 27 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks, and two passes defensed. On April 26, 2019, Urban signed with the Tennessee Titans.

Urban joined the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.
