BIOGRAPHY
Brandon Facyson was born on September 8, 1994, in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
Facyson played college football at Virginia Tech and signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018.
At high school he was named 2012 All-Region 4B-AAAAA first team at cornerback, and 2012 Newnan Times-Herald All-County Team as a receiver. He led Northgate High as a senior with 31 receptions for 439 yards and four touchdowns, finishing with 27 tackles, added six pass break-ups and caused a fumble. He played both ways as a junior, earning all-county honors at receiver (18 catches, 294 yards, 4 TDs) and all-region honors at defensive back (47 tackles, 3 interceptions). Facyson was listed as the No. 54 cornerback in the country and the No. 55 prospect in Georgia by Rivals, the No. 39 cornerback in the country and the No. 40 player in his state by 247Sports, he was listed as the No. 99 safety in the country by Scout and ranked as the No. 26 cornerback in the country, the No. 183 player in his region and the No. 39 player in the state by ESPN Recruiting Nation. Brandon was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club.
For the 2012-13 season, he did not sign an NLI as he graduated from high school early and enrolled at Virginia Tech in January, 2013, He went through off-season workouts with the team and was named the top defensive newcomer during spring practice. Facyson contributed four tackles and two pass breakups in the team’s first spring scrimmage, and intercepted a pass and added another breakup in scrimmage two, while posting a pair tackles and a break-up in the final scrimmage. He was in on three tackles and broke up a pass in the spring game.
The next season in 2013-14, he was a Third-Team All-ACC selection by ACSMA, a First-Team freshman All-American by 247Sports, and a Second-Team freshman All-American by College Football News. He played in 12 games, starting nine, and was in on 706 plays, 612 at corner and 96 on special teams. He had 27 tackles, five interceptions and eight pass break ups in his first season, making the start at corner in his collegiate debut, finishing the opener against Alabama with a tackle. He earned Iron Hokie honors in summer max testing. He was sat out the spring with a stress reaction in his left leg and had a bone graft procedure to aid the healing process after spring concluded.
Following the 2014-15 season, he played in and started three games. Facyson was in on 103 plays on defense and seven special teams plays. Brandon made the start at corner against William & Mary, finishing the game with three tackles and two pass break ups, had two break ups and two tackles in the win at Ohio State, made a tackle and broke up a pass against East Carolina, dressed for the Georgia Tech game, but did not play. He re-aggravated a shin injury suffered in the spring and missed the last nine games, suffered a broken leg in practice in December and had surgery, and was granted a medical hardship waiver.
During the 2015-16 season, Brandon started 10 of 12 games played and logged 690 plays, including 680 as cornerback and 10 on special teams, totaling 27 tackles with 1.0 tackle for loss, broke up 10 passes, defending 10. By 2016-17, Facyson was a National Player of the Week at Cornerback (Pro Football Focus 11/30), he played in all 14 games, making 14 starts, recording 48 tackles including 4.0 for loss, defending 11 passes and forced two fumbles.
For the 2017-2018 season, Facyson played in 13 games making 11 starts, making 19 tackles, two tackles for loss and five pass break ups. Facyson signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023.
