BIOGRAPHY
Benjamin J Isaac Finney II was born on October 26th, 1991, in Wichita, Kansas. He is an offensive lineman in the NFL.
During high school, Finney was rated a two-star offensive lineman by Rivals.com. He was named the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail Offensive MVP in 2009, earned first-team all-state designations in 2008 and 2009. He led the team to a state championship in 2007, a sub-state appearance in 2008 and a section runner-up finish in 2009.
Finney played for the Kansas State University football team from 2011 to 2014. In 2011 Finney was named a 2011 First Team Freshman All-American and First Team Freshman All-Big 12 performer by Rivals.com, while he earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors from the Kansas City Star and honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades from the Associated Press. He started the season at right guard before starting at center the last 12 games and helped the Wildcats average 193.7 rushing yards, which was 29th nationally. In 2013 Finney started all 13 games at center. He was named a First Team All-Big 12 performer by the league’s coaches and Phil Steele, while he was a second-team selection by the Associated Press and Athlon. In 2014 started all 13 games at center while also playing offensive tackle against West Virginia and UCLA in the Alamo Bowl. He was named a finalist for the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center, the second player in school history to be named a finalist (Nick Leckey, 2003).
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Finney as an undrafted rookie free agent immediately following the 2015 NFL Draft. Finney entered the 2018 season as a backup guard. He played in all 16 games, starting two at right guard. On March 6, 2019, the Steelers placed a second-round restricted free agent tender on Finney.
