Billy Turner was born on October 17, 1991, in Shoreview, Minnesota. He is an offensive tackle for the in the NFL.
Billy Turner is a 2010 graduate out of Mounds View High School, where he was an All-state lineman for Mounds View and head coach Jim Galvin. The Mustangs compiled a 26-8 record and won section titles and advanced to state playoffs all three years during his career. Turner landed a spot on the St. Paul Pioneer Press all-state team, Minneapolis Star Tribune all-metro team, the metro all-star team, and all-conference first teams.
Turner played collegiately at North Dakota State, where he started in 12 of the 13 games he played and was one of the main reasons NDSU had 1,000-yard rusher for the eighth straight season. Turner started in 14 games played in his sophomore year. He was part of an offensive line that provided protection for quarterback Brock Jensen, who has completed 219 of 326 passes for 2,534 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions Jensen completed 67.2 percent of his passes and ranked 23rd nationally in passing efficiency. The offensive line, known as the “Rams”, opened holes for running backs D.J. McNorton and Sam Ojuri, who made sure the Bison had a 1,000-yard runner for the ninth season in a row. Collectively, the offensive line allowed 18 sacks. The offense tied for 4th nationally in Red Zone offense, converting 51 of 56 chances at 91 percent including 39 touchdowns.
Turner picked up a number of postseason awards including first-team The Sports Network, Associated Press, Walter Camp, College Sporting News, and College Sports Journal All-America honors his junior season. He started in all 15 games played and was named to all-Missouri Valley Football Conference first-team. NDSU led the conference in scoring (31.4 avg/g) and rushing offense (178.0 avg/g). Nationally, the Bison were 2nd in time of possession (34:21), 7th in third-down conversions (50.72 percent) and tied for 16th in Red Zone offense (89 percent). NDSU had two running backs, Sam Ojuri and John Crockett, reach 1,000 yards, marking the 10th straight year the Bison produced a 1,000-yard rusher.
Turner made all 15 starts at left tackle and was responsible for zero quarterback sacks his senior year. Turner was named to the All-America first team by The Sports Network, Associated Press, Walter Camp, AFCA and the FCS Athletic Directors Association. He was also named All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team and was a three-time Offensive Lineman of the Week. Turner had 10 knockdowns in a win at Southern Illinois when the Bison ran for 331 yards against the nation's fourth-ranked rushing defense. Turner was part of a running attack that had two 1,000-yard rushers for the third straight season. He provided protection for quarterback Brock Jensen, a finalist for the Walter Payton Award and FCS record holder with 48 career wins.
Turner has spent time with the Miami Dolphins (2014-16), Baltimore Ravens (2016) and Denver Broncos (2016-18) over five seasons. He has played in 40 games with 25 starts in his career after originally being selected by the Dolphins in the third round (No. 67 overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State. Turner has started at right guard (19 games), right tackle (four games), left tackle (one game) and left guard (one game). In 2018, he played in a career-best 16 games, starting seven at right guard and four at right tackle.

On March 28, 2022, Turner signed with the Denver Broncos.
On May 1, 2023 the New York Jets signed Turner to a one-year deal, reuniting him with his former Packers teammate, Aaron Rodgers and former Packers offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett.
