Ben Banogu was born on January 19th, 1996 in Nigeria. He is a defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL.

Although Banogu was born in Nigeria, he began his playing career in McKinney, Texas at Prosper High School. He was a three sport athlete for the school. Banogu would play in football, basketball, and track & field.

On February 4, 2014, he signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Louisiana-Monroe on a football scholarship. Banogu redshirted during his first season at ULM. He would return became a starter for the Warhawks as a redshirt freshman in 2015. He recorded 5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss to earn a spot on the All-Sun Belt Newcomer Team, but chose to leave the program after the season. Banogu would transfer to TCU and sit out his sophomore year due to NCAA transfer rules. He became a starter for the Horned Frogs as a junior in 2017, totalling 8.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss, earning 1st Team All-Big 12 honors. For his senior campaign, Banogu would ended the season with 8.5 sacks and 18.0 tackles for loss to once again be named 1st Team All-Big 12.

Bangou was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (49th Overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.
