BIOGRAPHY
Austin Calitro was born on January 10th, 1994 in Orlando, Florida. He is a linebacker in the NFL.
Calitro began his playing career at Danbury High School. After high school, Calitro would committ to play collegiate football at Villanova University. During his junior year in college, Calitro was named third team All-CAA Football. He led the team in total tackles with 90 and forced fumbles with three. Calitro tallied 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, while recording four pass break-ups and one interception. He had five solo tackles and one assisted stop at Connecticut in the season opener, tallied 10 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception at Fordham, registered six tackles, one sack and a tackle for loss versus Delaware. Calitro posted a career-high 13 total tackles, two pass break-ups and 1.5 tackles for loss versus Penn. He was credited with five solo tackles, one assisted stop, one forced fumble, one sack and one tackle for loss against William & Mary. He recorded his third double digit tackle game of the season with 10 total stops at Towson, registered nine total stops and a pass break-up against Maine and tallied seven solo tackles and two assisted stops to go with a pass break-up at Rhode Island. Calitro was credited with six total stops, one interception and one forced fumble versus Richmond and had seven total tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble at James Madison.
Calitro would go undrafted but would sign with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017. He's spent time with the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Cleveland Browns. With his second stint with the Seahawks, Calitro played in his first NFL game on September 9, 2018 in a 27-24 loss to the Denver Broncos, recording five tackles in the game.
