BIOGRAPHY
Antonio Callaway was born on January 9, 1997, in Florida City, Florida. He is a wide receiver in the NFL. He played college football at Florida. As a wide receiver at the University of Florida, he has made an immediate impact in his true freshman season.
Callaway started 24 of 26 contests at Florida, catching 89 passes for 1,399 yards and seven touchdowns. He returned six kickoffs for 176 yards and a score, while also returning 54 punts for 653 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With 89 total catches during his first two seasons, only Jabar Gaffney (138) and Percy Harvin (93) caught more in their first two seasons at Florida since 1996. He is the third-fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 career receiving yards, doing so in just 17 games. As a sophomore in 2016, he saw action in all 12 games with 11 starts. Callaway registered 54 receptions for 721 yards and three touchdowns. He returned three kicks for 97 yards and a score, along with 26 punt returns for 218 yards. Callaway became the first player in school history and 21st FBS player since 1996 to score a rushing, receiving, passing, punt return, and kickoff return touchdown in a career.
He became the seventh Gator since 1996 to score a receiving, rushing, and passing touchdown in a career and was named a Third Team All-SEC wide receiver by Athlon Sports. In his freshman season in 2015, he started 13 or 14 games, totaling 35 receptions for 678 yards and four touchdowns. He eclipsed 435 punt return yards on 28 attempts for a pair of scores and recorded a team-high 1,211 all-purpose yards on 69 plays for a 17.6 yards-per-play average. His 678 receiving yards broke UF’s true freshman record and he was the third FBS player and only true freshman since 2008 to amass 435-plus punt return yards and 675-plus receiving yards in a season. He was named to CBS Sports first team All-America as a punt returner and freshman first team All-America by the Sporting News and Pro Football Focus. Additionally, Callaway was awarded SI.com honorable mention All-America, as well as PFF first team All-SEC, Gridiron Now second team All-SEC, and freshman All-SEC.
The Cleveland Browns selected Callaway in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On September 16, 2018, Callaway earned his first career start. He recorded three receptions for 81-yards and scored his first career touchdown.
