BIOGRAPHY
Kevin Knox II was born on August 11th, 1999 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a small forward in the NBA.
Knox II began his career playing prep sports at Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida. Knox would began to raise up the recruiting ranks with a 30.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assist per game average while leading his team to district and regional titles. In his senior season, Knox II would earn Mr. Florida honors with a 28.5 points and 11.3 rebounds a game and finished off his career with 2,760 total points. He would participate in both the McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic Games. He was considered a top-10 prospect by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN. He would commit to playing collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky for coach John Callapri.
Knox won two gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship and 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship.
At Kentucky, as a true freshman Knox II would led the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game and his 576 points was the eighth best in school history as a freshman. He was an Associated Press All-American honorable mention and was Co-Freshman of the Year with Collin Sextons. Knox II would also- make it to the All-SEC Freshman and All-SEC First team. Following his freshman season, Knox II would enter the 2018 NBA Draft.
Knox II was selected in the first round with the ninth overall pick by the New York Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, Knox II played in 75 games with 57 starts and averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 37% from the field and 34% from the three.
On December 21, 2020, the Knicks announced that they exercised their fourth-year option on Knox. Knox signed with the Detroit Pistons during the 2022 offseason, but he was dealt to the Trail Blazers in February 2023.
