Kevin Durant Charity Foundation (KDCF)
The mission of the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation (KDCF) is to enrich the lives of at-risk youth from low-income backgrounds through educational, athletic and social programs. Since 2013, KDCF has developed direct programs and initiatives to support youth across the US, in Kevin Durant’s hometown, and internationally. Additionally, the foundation has allocated grants to support programs addressing homelessness, youth athletics, girls empowerment, social justice, and disaster relief. The Kevin Durant Charity Foundation (KDCF) has donated over $13 million since its founding and has supported initiatives dealing with youth athletics, organizations serving youth facing homelessness, the renovation of 19 basketball courts across the world and giving educational opportunities to low-income and first-generation college students. Because of his outreach efforts through his foundation and beyond, Durant received last year’s Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
In 2013, he made a $1 million donation toward recovery efforts after tornadoes battered the state. Grants flowed to regional organizations like the Tulsa Dream Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Wilson, and Positive Tomorrows, which provides elementary school education for homeless children.
In 2013, he pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross for the victims of the 2013 Moore tornado.
Boys & Girls Clubs Are Safe And Child Friendly Spaces With Positive Role Models. We're working to make more complete citizens & a better South Africa.
As Oklahoma's only elementary school and social services specifically for children and families experiencing homelessness, we give kids stability and a quality education while their parents get the support they need to create a better life. Since 1989, we have filled our scrapbooks with countless success stories, but the need continues. Together we can break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Be part of the solution!
GiveDirectly is the first — and largest — nonprofit that lets donors like you send money directly to the world’s poorest. We believe people living in poverty deserve the dignity to choose for themselves how best to improve their lives — cash enables that choice.
In January, Durant donated $3 million to his alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin, $2.5 million of which has been earmarked for the men's basketball program, prompting university officials to rename the team's playing space to "The Kevin Durant Basketball Facility For Men.
