BIOGRAPHY
Justin Alaric Holiday was born on April 5, 1989, in Mission Hills, California. He is a shooting guard and a small forward in the NBA.
Holiday's parents are Shawn and Toya Holiday. His parents both played college basketball at Arizona State. His mother was a Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1982. Holiday's brothers play for the NBA. Jrue Holiday plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, and Aaron Holiday plays for the Pacers as well. His sister Lauren plays for UCLA's women's basketball team. He is brother in law of U.S women's national soccer team Lauren Holiday. Holiday became a father in November 2017.
Holiday attended Campbell Hall School. He averaged 19.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game as and led his school to a 33-1 record and the state Class IV championship.
Holiday enrolled at the University of Washington. In his freshman year, he averaged 0.7 points in 6.6 minutes per game. The next year, he played in 35 games, averaging 2.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 15.6 minutes per game. In his junior year, he was named the 2010 Pac-10 All-Defensive Team. In his last year, he was the Huskies co-captain and was named the Pac-10 Defensive Playe of the Year by Netscouts Basketball. He averaged 10.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals in 28.3 minutes per game.
In the 2011 NBA draft, Holiday went undrafted, and in August, he signed with Okapi Aalstar of Belgium for the 2011-12 season. He was a starter along with Chris Copeland.
In 2012, Holiday joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA Summer League. In October, he was signed with Cleveland but later waived, and two days later, Portland Trail Blazers claimed him but was soon waived off. On October 31, 2012, Holiday was acquired by the Idaho Stampede, and in November, he made his debut against the Los Angeles D-Fenders and recorded 15 points and six rebounds.
In July 2014, Holiday joined the Golden State Warriors for the NBA Summer League. He signed with the Warriors in September. In March 2015, he scored a career-high 23 points against the Denver Nuggets. In the 2015 NBA Finals, Holiday won his first NBA championship after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In July 2015, the Atlanta Hawks signed a multi-year deal with HOliday. He made his debut in a 112-101 win over the New York Knicks. Holiday was traded to the Chicago Bulls on February 18th, 2016. In March, he made his debut and recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks against the Miami Heat. On April 13, Holiday scored a career-high 29 points in a 115-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
On June 22nd, 2016, Holiday was traded to the New York Knicks, and in the season finale, he scored a season-high 20 points against the Phoenix Suns. On July 10th, 2017, Holiday went to the Chicago Bulls. In January 2018, he made a career-best seven 3 pointer and scored 25 points in a 119-111 win over the Miami Heat.
On July 31st, 2019, Holiday signed with the Indiana Pacers. He plays alongside his brother Aaron.
