The Joe Harris Basketball Camp
The Joe Harris Basketball Camp is a non-profit; it provides a yearly scholarship (Leaders on the Lake) to a high school senior in the Lake Chelan Valley for exemplary leadership qualities – as well as providing charitable assistance to youth programs in the Lake Chelan Valley.
Harris is a member of the "Starting Five", along with Malcolm Brogdon, Justin Anderson, Anthony Tolliver, and Garrett Temple. Their goal is to raise $225,000 through Hoops2O, founded by Brogdon, to fund five wells in East Africa by the end of the 2018–19 season.
Hoops4Humanity projects start by providing access to clean water, and then support additional initiatives to optimize and equip the schools. For some schools the focus is on literacy, mentoring, and school infrastructure. Other schools may need the basic dignity and health needs that comes from being able to wash your hands, use the lavatory, or menstrual hygiene.
