Jalen Hood-Schifino was born June 19, 2003 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a forward in the National Basketball Association. 

In his lone season at Indiana, Hood-Schifino was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and third team All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. In 32 games (32 starts), he averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 33.1 minutes per game. On January 8, 2023, Hood-Schifino scored 33 points and on February 25, 2023, Hood-Schifino scored an Indiana freshman-record 35 points in a 79-71 win against Purdue at Mackey Arena. On March 31, 2023, Hood-Schifino declared for the NBA draft, foregoing his final three years of college eligibility.

Hood-Schifino was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft.

On December 9, 2023, Schifino and the Lakers won the inaugural season of the NBA In-Season Tournament.
