BIOGRAPHY
JaKarr Jordan Sampson was born on March 20th, 1993, at Cleveland, Ohio. He is a small forward in the NBA.
Sampson attended St. VIncent-St. Mary High School. In his senior year, he transferred to Brewster Academy. He averaged 18.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, and he was NEPSAC AAA Players of the Year and MVP of the National Prep Championship.
In 2012, Sampson started his freshman year at St. John's University. He was named the 2013 Rookie of the Year and the Big East All-Rookie team. In his sophomore year, he completed his Red Storm career with a total of 915 points and 420 rebounds. He was the 2013 Pre-season All-Big East second team. In March 2014, Sampson entered the 2014 NBA draft and forgo his final two years of college eligibility.
In 2014, Sampson joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the NBA Summer League. He was later signed then reassigned to the Delaware 87ers. In February 2016, he was waived by the team.
On February 22nd, 2016, Sampson signed the Denver Nuggets. He made his debut against the Sacramento Kings and made one rebound and one steal in fourteen minutes off the bench. In October 15th, he was waived by the Nuggets.
Sampson signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on October 21st, 2016. A week after, he was acquired by the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League. In 2017, he was named in the Western Conference All-Star team for the 2017 NBA D-League All-Star Game.
On July 29th, 2017, Sampson was signed to a two-way contract by the Sacramento Kings. In December 2017, Sampson grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In September 2018, the Chicago Bulls signed Sampson signed with the Chicago Bulls. On October 12th, he was waived. On November 9th, the Windy City Bulls acquired Sampson. On January 29th, 2019, the Windy City Bulls re-acquired him. On March 31st, 2019, the Chicago Bulls signed Sampson to a 10-day contract.
On August 2nd, 2019, Sampson signed a one year deal with the Indiana Pacers.
