BIOGRAPHY
Corey Jay Crowder was born on July 6th, 1990, in Villa Rica, Georgia. He is a small forward in the NBA.
Crowder's father used to play in the NBA for the Utah Jazz, the San Antonio Spurs and played professionally in Europe.
Crowder attended Villa Rica High School, where he was a quarterback for the football tea and a starting point guard for the basketball team. His father heed him improve on his game and his physical conditioning.
In his college career, he started at South Georgia Technical College, where he led the Jets to their first-ever NJCAA national tournaments. In his sophomore year, he transferred to Howard College. In his time with Howard, he was the Junior College Player of the Year and helped his team win its first-ever NJCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. In the final game against the Three Rivers Community College, he registered 27 points and 12 rebounds in an 85-80 overtime victory. After the season ended, he transferred to Marquette University. In the 2011-12 season, he led Marquette to a second-place finish in the Big East also in their Sweet 16. He was the Big East Player of the Year and AP Second-Team All American.
In the 2012 NBA draft, he was taken by the Cavaliers and then the Mavericks. On November 5th, 2013, Crowder scored 18 points in a 123-104 win against the Lakers. In June 2014, the Mavericks exercised their team option on Crowder's contract.
In December 2014, Crowder was traded to the Boston Celtics, and on January 12th, 2015, he scored a then career-high 22 points in a 108-100 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. In July 2015, Crowder re-signed with the Celtics to a five year $35 million contract.
In August 2017, Crowder was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. On November 20th, he scored a season-high 18 points against the Detroit Pistons. In the 2018-19 season, he was acquired by the Utah Jazz, and in his debut, he scored 15 points in a 115-96 win over Portland.
On July 6th, 1996, the Memphis Grizzlies got Crowder from the Jazz. On October 27th, Crowder hit the game-winning buzzer-beating 3-pointer against the Brooklyn Nets.
He has also played for the Miami Heat (with whom he reached his first NBA Finals in 2020). He reached his second NBA Finals with the Phoenix Suns in 2021.
Jae Crowder was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, then to the Milwaukee Bucks on February 9, 2023.
