RISE
Green joined the advisory board of RISE to help advance race relations; participated in the Warriors and Adobe’s anti-bullying campaign Not On Our Ground; granted wishes for youth hosting 13 year-old Je’Kob from Las Vegas, NV at a Warriors game; launched a new partnership with The First Tee to help further its impact with at-risk and underserved youth in the Oakland/Hayward communities; participated in multiple Warriors Basketball Camps in the Bay Area; became the spokesperson for the Warriors and Bay Area BMW’s Go Green platform informing fans on how to be “green” at home; along with being one of the most active players in the Warriors Season of Giving Efforts.
Green partnered with the Oakland Marriott to provide a Thanksgiving luncheon for families and youth from the Richmond Police Activities League (PAL). Green also joined his teammates alongside 3,000 season ticket holders to support #hashtaglunchbag by creating and delivering 20,000 lunch bags to those less fortunate. The All-Star power forward’s Season of Giving efforts did not end there, as Green took 30 youth from a local homeless shelter in Oakland, the Covenant House, on a surprise shopping spree with The Clorox Company for the Holidays.
Green took an active role in a variety of campaigns including #LeanInTogether, joining the NBA, LeanIn.org, the NBPA and the WNBA to launch the second year of #LeanInTogether, an ongoing public awareness campaign focused on the important role men play in reaching equality.
The Warriors Community Foundation is honoring Green for his continued commitment to giving back by donating $15,000 to a charity of Green’s choice. On behalf of Green, the Warriors Community Foundation will donate $7,500 to the First Tee of the East Bay and $7,500 to the Fam 1st Family Foundation. The First Tee of the East Bay provides learning facilities and educational programs to promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The Fam 1st Family Foundation, launched by Oakland Technical High School graduates and NFL veterans Joshua Johnson and Marshawn Lynch, aims to build self-esteem and academic learning skills in underprivileged youth through mentorship and educational workshops.
On September 14, 2015, Green donated $3.1 million to Michigan State University, which is the largest pledge from an athlete in the school's history, to help build a new athletics facility and fund an endowment program for scholarships.
501CTHREE will mobilize the next generation to fight climate change by creating a global community that embraces low-carbon culture.
