Darlington Joephillip Nagbe was born on July 19, 1990 in Monrovia, Liberia. He is a midfielder in Major League Soccer.

Nagbe was selected by Portland Timbers in the first round (second overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. Nagbe made his professional debut on April 2, 2011 and scored his first goal on July 2, 2011 which was eventually named the 2011 MLS goal of the year. On December 13, 2017, Atlanta United FC finalized a trade to acquire Nagbe and on November 13, 2019, Columbus Crew SC acquired Nagbe. During the 2022 season, Nagbe was again named to the MLS All-Star Game. As captain, Nagbe led Columbus to win the MLS Cup in their 2023 season over LAFC 2-1. At the end of the 2023 regular season, having become the club captain, Nagbe was re-signed by Columbus to a contract extension through the 2025 season.
