Shintaro Fujinami was born April 12, 1994, in Osaka, Japan. He is a pitcher in the MLB.

On December 1, 2022, the Tigers posted Fujinami to Major League Baseball (MLB), giving clubs 30 days to negotiate with him, and necessitating a compensatory fee if a deal was reached.

On January 13, 2023, Fujinami signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). After making four starts for Oakland, in which he had a 0–4 record and 14.40 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 15 innings, Fujinami was moved to the bullpen.

On July 19, 2023, Fujinami was traded from the Athletics to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for Easton Lucas.
