BIOGRAPHY

Sam Howard was born on March 5, 1993, in Cartersville, Georgia. He is a pitcher in the MLB. 

Howard in 2014, he went 1-3 with 5.40 ERA across 14 appearances, 13 starts with Rookie Level Grand Junction in his first professional season. He pitched into the sixth inning in each of his last two starts of the season, allowing a combined three runs in 11.1 innings pitched. 

In 2015, he made 25 starts with Low-A Asheville, going 11-9 with a 3.43 ERA (134.0 IP, 51 ER) and 122 strikeouts, the most in the South Atlantic League. Howard record a team-high 11 wins, tied for fifth-most in the South Atlantic League, en route to being named MiLB.com Organization All-Star. 

In 2016, Howard was named a Mid-Season All-Star in the High-A California League after going 4-3 with a 2.47 ERA (65.2 IP, 18 ER) in 11 starts with Modesto. He pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts of the season. 

Howard attended his first Major League Spring Training in 2017, before Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque. He was added to the 40 man roster on November 20. 

In 2018, he made four relief appearances for the Rookies, including his Major League debut against Arizona vs. June 10. He made his first major league debut and went 3-5 with 5.06 ERA (96.0 IP, 54 ER) 34 walks and 80 strikeouts in 21 starts with Triple-A Albuquerque.
