Dauris Valdez was born October 22, 1995, in Baní, Dominican Republic. He is a pitcher in the MLB.

Valdez signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent on February 12, 2016. He made his professional debut with the DSL Padres, going 4–3 with a 3.51 ERA in 56+1⁄3 innings. He split the 2017 season between the Tri-City Dust Devils and the Fort Wayne TinCaps, going a combined 1–2 with a 3.67 ERA in 34+1⁄3 innings. He spent the 2018 season with the Lake Elsinore Storm, going 1–4 with a 4.39 ERA in 53+1⁄3 innings. He played for the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League following the 2018 season. He spent the 2019 season with the Amarillo Sod Poodles, going 2–0 with a 4.23 ERA in 55+1⁄3 innings.

On April 5, 2021, Valdez was traded to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for James Norwood.
