Cole Wilcox was born July 14, 1999, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is a pitcher in the MLB.

Wilcox was selected by the San Diego Padres in the third round, with the 80th overall selection, of the 2020 MLB draft. He signed with the Padres on June 30 for a $3.3 million signing bonus, a record among players drafted in the third round. He did not play a minor league game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season caused by the pandemic.

On December 29, 2020, Wilcox, along with Luis Patiño, Blake Hunt, and Francisco Mejía, was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitcher Blake Snell. To begin the 2021 season, he was assigned to the Charleston RiverDogs of the Low-A East League.
