BIOGRAPHY
Tyler Conklin was born on July 30th, 1995, in Chesterfield Township, Michigan, and currently plays tight end in the NFL.
Conklin attended L'Anse Creuse North High School and played college football at Central Michigan University.
During high school, Conklin was a standout two-sport athlete, playing as a wide receiver in football and combo guard in basketball. As a junior, Conklin led his basketball team to the Class A Final Four, scoring 22 points in a 59-46 semifinal loss to eventual state champion Saginaw High.
After graduating from high school, Conklin was awarded a full-ride basketball scholarship to Northwood University. He stayed for one semester and played in seven games, averaging 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 points and 1.4 assists per game. However, midway through his freshman year, he transferred to Central Michigan University, where he walked on to the football team.
Conklin played for the Central Michigan University football team from 2015 to 2017. In 2015 Conklin had six catches for 95 yards. In 2016, Conklin appeared in all 13 games, making 11 starts. He was ranked third on the team in receptions (42) and receiving yards (560). He recorded six receiving touchdowns on the year, which ranked second on the team. In 2017, Conklin appeared in seven games, starting five. He was team captain, he was named Third Team All-MAC, John Mackey Preseason Watch List, and he has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl. Conklin had 28 catches for 406 yards and five TDs.
Conklin was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 5, 2018, the Minnesota Vikings signed Conklin to a four-year contract.
On March 18, 2022, Conklin signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the New York Jets.
