Tanner Muse was born on September 6, 1996 in Belmont, North Carolina. He is a linebacker in the NFL.

Growing up in Belmont, he attended South Point High School where he played baseball and football. As a senior, he was named 1st team All-State while playing running back, safety, and long snapper. He was a 4-star recruit when he committed to play baseball and football at Clemson.

When Muse got on campus, he decided to not play baseball to focus on football. During the 2016 season, Muse played in all 15 games as a backup safety with 24 totals in the run to a National Championship. During his sophomore year, he became a starter and stayed there for the next season. As a junior, he helped lead the defense to the 2018 National Championship. He declared for the 2020 NFL draft where he was selected in the 3rd round (100th pick) by the Las Vegas Raiders.
