The JuJu Foundation
The JuJu Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of youth initiatives and lifting the spirits of those in need. The Foundation was established in 2019 by Pittsburgh Steelers and former University of Southern California WR JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Animal Advocates is a nonprofit, all volunteer, Pittsburgh-based animal welfare organization involved in the rescue, care and placement of companion animals. Serving the Pittsburgh area since 1984, Animal Advocates has adhered to a no-kill policy and engaged in community based advocacy on behalf of animals since its inception.
We exist simply because people in our community struggle with meeting a basic human need—having enough to eat.
Our programs are continuing to reach students in new and creative ways, responding to emergencies, and conducting virtual meetings for educational programs and one to one coaching sessions as needed. Jeremiah's Place provides emergency child care services for children ages 0-6 for a few hours or days based on the needs of each individual family.
Since 1900, children and families in our community have benefited from the work of Holy Family Institute. Holy Family Institute provides help, healing, and hope to children and families throughout Western Pennsylvania. We pioneer alternative learning and career training environments, offer mental health and substance use counseling, and help families address debilitating financial limitations. You can always find us in the schools and neighborhoods with the most need. In 2018 alone, more than 35,000 families and children improved their lives with the help of our donors and volunteers.
Since 1952, Light of Life has been a place where hope and healing meet for men, women, and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction. We transform lives through the love of Christ.
Pennsylvania Women Work is a nonprofit workforce development organization dedicated to helping individuals find financial stability.
Nearly two-thirds of low-income families do not own any books for their children. Reading Is Fundamental Pittsburgh addresses this critical need by providing children with access to self-selected books, creating positive environments that motivate children to develop a lifelong love of reading, and engaging families in literacy practices in the home. By providing services to more than 20,000 of our city’s most economically disadvantaged children, RIF Pittsburgh is dedicated to reducing the literacy gap in our community and fostering a lifelong love of reading in the children we serve.
Unpack U fosters a culture of physical and virtual campus community emphasizing the importance of mental well-being through community and a strategic network of partners. Launching in Pittsburgh, we leverage the commitment of 11 local universities to implement innovative programming and educational opportunities, while simultaneously serving as a bridge to existing proven resources. Unpack U drops fun, exciting and enlightening content and events designed to build connections from anywhere – in your dorms, at home, on Zoom or on social media. Continuing into 2021, Unpack U leads with a student-driven, bottom up approach – through initiatives such as the ambassador program, our student-led commUnity series and more. UPMC Senior Services connects older adults - and their loved ones and caregivers - with helpful resources, programs, and learning opportunities in support of aging well. Additionally, UPMC Senior Services provides state-of-the-art training and education to professionals specific to the concerns of the aging population.
