BIOGRAPHY
Jeremy Theron McNichols was born on December 26th, 1995, in Long Beach, California, and currently plays running back for the NFL.
He attended Santa Margarita high school, where he was a three-star recruit, according to Scout.com, ESPN.com, and Rivals.com; as a sophomore, he caught 30 passes for 414 yards and five touchdowns and rushed three times for 42 yards. As a junior, he rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on three attempts and caught 25 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns. As a senior, rushed 163 times for 798 yards and eight touchdowns, and hauled in 17 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns and earned first-team all-league, all-region, and all-state honors following senior season.
He played college football at Boise State University; as a freshman in 2014, he appeared in nine games and was a dual-threat rushing 17 times for 160 yards and a touchdown, caught 15 balls for 155 yards and a touchdown.
In 2015 as a sophomore, he appeared and started in 12 games and tied for second in the nation with 26 touchdowns (20 rushings, six receiving). He set the Mountain West record for most consecutive games with a rushing touchdown (12) and rushed for 1,337 yards (fourth in the Mountain West, 25th in the FBS) on 240 carries and caught 51 passes (ninth in the MW) for 460 yards. He was Named to All-Mountain West Second Team and finished second in the Mountain West and 11th in the FBS with 1,886 all-purpose yards.
As a junior in 2016, he started all 13 games and was named to All-Mountain West Second Team. He finished the season with 1,709 rushing yards (third in Boise State single-season history) and 23 rushing touchdowns (fourth) on 314 attempts (second). He caught 37 passes for 474 yards and four touchdowns and his 27 touchdowns ranked second in the nation and third all-time in a single season at Boise State, while his 2,255 all-purpose yards were the second-most in a season in Boise State history.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted McNichols in the fifth round, 162nd overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft. On September 4th, 2017, McNichols was signed to the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad; he has been on the practice squads of the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and the Tennessee Titans.
