BIOGRAPHY
Javon Wims was born on September 11th, 1994, in Carol City, Florida. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League.
Wims attended Ed White High School; he played for Coach Terry Gilliam. He was letterman in basketball and football and led the county in assists, blocks, and rebounds per game as a senior. He spent one season playing at Hinds Community College before playing at Georgia, catching 47 passes for 779 yards and 9 TDs. Wilms also spent a season at Belhaven University, catching seven passes for 55 yards in 6 games.
He played college football at Georgia; appeared in 13 games with three starts in 2016, catching 17 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown. Wims started at Kentucky and had a team-best five catches for 90 yards, including a season-best catch of 51 yards, had two critical grabs on Georgia's game-winning drive vs. UK, has 14 catches for 179 yards to date, caught three passes for 32 yards vs. Vanderbilt, made collegiate debut vs. Nicholls, his first collegiate catch was a 10-yarder at Ole Miss, caught an 8-yard pass vs. Tennessee and a 21-yarder vs. Louisiana.
Wims then blossomed in his 2017 season, playing in all 15 games with 14 starts , being the Bulldogs' leading receiver with 45 catches for 720 yards and 7 TDs, reeled in a 4-yard touchdown from Jake Fromm for the 38-31 Georgia lead in the fourth quarter, reeled in a 4-yard touchdown from Jake Fromm for the 38-31 Georgia lead in the fourth quarter, led Georgia with five catches vs. Georgia Tech, including a 21-yard scoring grab, reeled in three catches for 33 yards and a score at Tennessee, had two catches for 35 yards at Notre Dame, including a 31-yarder, finished with three catches for 81 yards against Appalachian State, caught a 34-yard TD from Jake Fromm in the second quarter against the Mountaineers, named to Senior Bowl Watch List, and helping the Bulldogs reach the FBS championship game by leading the team in all receiving categories with 45 receptions for 720 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Chicago Bears drafted Wims in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. After leading the national runner-up Bulldogs in receiving last season, Wims is driven to show NFL teams that he should have been chosen higher than the 224th pick in the seventh round of the draft. Wims made his NFL debut in the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, catching seven passes for 89 yards.
Wims joined the Arizona Cardinals in 2023.
