BIOGRAPHY
Jamin Davis was born December 12, 1998, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is a linebacker in the NFL. Davis grew up in Ludowici, Georgia where he attended Long County High School. He had 126 total tackles on defense as a senior while also rushing 11 times for 50 yards and catching 12 passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns on offense. Davis committed to play college football at Kentucky over offers Louisville, Georgia Tech, Purdue and N.C. State.Davis redshirted his true freshman season. He played mostly on special teams as a redshirt freshman with an interception on defense. Davis was a key reserve at linebacker as a redshirt sophomore and finished the year with 32 tackles. Davis was named a starter going into his redshirt senior year and was the team's leading tackler with 102 along with four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery three interceptions, one of which he returned 85 yards for a touchdown. Following the season, he announced that he would enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
Davis' childhood nickname was "Shadow", named after Shadow from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise. He received the nickname from a close friend and partner in track sprinting nicknamed Sonic, as the two characters are rivals in said franchise. Davis majored in community and leadership development at Kentucky and chose to wear 44 as his Wildcats uniform number to honor his grandmother who died at 44. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he was interning at an attorney's office in Lexington, Kentucky. Davis is a fan of NASCAR, with his favorite driver being Jimmie Johnson.
