BIOGRAPHY
Jamal Adams was on born October 17th, 1995, in Lewisville, Texas. He is a strong safety in the NFL.
Adams attended Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas. He was rated a five-star recruit and considered among the top ten best players in his class. During his final two years, he had 138 tackles and seven interceptions on defense and 20 touchdowns on offense. Adams received nearly 30 offers from elite Divison I programs throughout the country but committed to Lousiana State University on January 1st, 2014.
Adams played three seasons for LSU from 2014 to 2016. He played in all 13 games with two starts as a true freshman at LSU in 2014 and had 66 tackles and a sack. Adams totaled 209 total tackles, 128 solo, five interceptions, two sacks, and 14 defended passes. He was a second-team All-SEC selection as a safety and named to the AP All-SEC First Team and named Second Team all-American as a junior. On January 6th, 2017, Adams announced that he would forgo his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
Jamal Adams was selected in the first round by the New York Jets with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. In his first year with the Jets, he recorded 83 combined tackles, 63 solo, six pass deflections, and two sacks in 16 games and 16 starts. Adams was named to the 2017 PFWA All-Rookie Team. In 2018, Adams improved in every defensive category registering 115 combined tackles, 86 solo, 12 defended passes and one interception for 38 yards. He was selected to the 2018 Pro Bowl and named Second-Team All-Pro in 2018.
On July 25, 2020, Adams, along with a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, first- and third-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, and a first-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft. Adams was named to his third straight Pro Bowl on December 21, 2020. Adams and teammate Quandre Diggs became the first safety tandem to make the Pro Bowl together since former Seahawks safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor in 2015.
