BIOGRAPHY
Ifeadikachukwu Anthony Odenigbo was born on April 8th, 1994, in Bayonne, New Jersey, and currently plays defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. Odenigbo attended Centerville High School and played college football at Northwestern University.
During high school, Odenigbo recorded 90 tackles and 10.5 sacks as a junior and 50 tackles and 8.5 sacks as a senior, totaling 140 tackles and 19 sacks for Centerville. He led Centerville to a 7-4 record in 2011 and a Greater Western Ohio Conference championship.
Odenigbo played for the Northwestern University football team from 2012 to 2016. In 2013, Odenigbo was a third-down pass-rushing specialist. 6.5 of 9.0 tackles on the year went for a loss. He was ranked second on the team with 5.5 sacks. In 2014, Odenigbo played primarily as a third-down pass-rush specialist and increased his career totals to 8.5 sacks and 9.5 TFLs on 20.0 career tackles. He saw time in all 12 games. In 2015, Odenigbo played in 12 of 13 games. He was an important member of the defensive line, coming off the edge. In 2016, Odenigbo finished his career second in program history with 23.5 career sacks. He was named Second-Team All-Big Ten by the media and to the 2016 Ted Hendricks Award Watch List. He led the Big Ten with 10 sacks.
Odenigbo was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round, 220th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Vikings on January 22, 2018.
Odenigbo was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns on September 2, 2018.
On September 24, 2018, Odenigbo was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals.
Ifeadikachukwu Anthony Odenigbo has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. On October 31, 2018, Odenigbo was signed to the Minnesota Vikings practice squad (second stint).
On March 19, 2021, Odenigbo signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the New York Giants.
