BIOGRAPHY
Devin White was born on February 17th, 1998 in Springhill, Louisiana. He is a linebacker in the NFL.
White attended North Webster High School in Springhill, Louisiana, where he was a star linebacker and running back. Coming out of high school, he received more than 30 offers from some of the most elite, Division One college football programs. He received offers from Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Miami, to name a few. He had four recruiting visits to LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss before signing with LSU on 01/08/2016.
In his sophomore season at LSU, White led the SEC in tackles with 133 total, the 4th most tackles in a single season in school history. He also became the first player in SEC history to be named Defensive Player of the week four times in the same season. While at LSU, he earned 2X First Team All-SEC honors, was named Consensus All-American honor given annually to the best American college football players at their respective positions and won the Butkus Award, given annually to the top linebackers in college football. Following his junior year, White decided to forego his senior year and enter the 2019 NFL Draft.
Devin White was selected in the first round with the fifth overall pick, by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the 2019 NFL Draft. It is the highest pick the Buccaneers have ever spent on an off-ball linebacker and made him the highest selected LSU Tigers defensive player since Patrick Peterson in 2011.
On April 27, 2022, the Buccaneers exercised the fifth-year option on White's contract. In Week 10, White had nine tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and recovery in a 21-16 win over the Seahawks, earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
