BIOGRAPHY
Devin Funchess was born on May 21st, 1994, in Detroit, Michigan. He is a wide receiver in the NFL.
Devin Funchess has been a standout athlete and member of the society since playing football in Farmington, Michigan at Harrison High School. His Jr. season he lead his team to the state championship as a standout tight end. The following season ESPN ranked him as the fifth-ranked tight end in the nation.
Devin committed to the University of Michigan in 2011, where he played in 37 career games at TE/WR, compiling 126 receptions, 1715 yards and 15 TDs. In 2015 he was drafted in the second round (41stoverall) by the Carolina Panthers.
Devin made an immediate impact as a rookie, with five TDs and helping the Panthers reach Super Bowl 50. His five touchdowns is tied for second among Panthers rookies all-time.
In 2016, he continued to prove himself as one of QB Cam Newton’s favorite targets, hauling in four TDs before being placed on injured reserve after a knee injury. Devin worked tirelessly to return from injury and thrived in 2017.
He started all 16 games with 63 catches, 840 yards and eight TDs all career bests. He’s burst onto the scene and established himself as the Carolina Panthers premier target.
Devin has a vibrant personality and is passionate many things but none more than his family , community and of course, his dog Chapo. Devin’s loyalty and charitable nature is evident as he hosts, Fun Bunch Football Camp, free for 300 kids & often returns to U of M to share his time and advice with the current Wolverines. In his down time Devin can be found cooking his famous shrimp alfredo pasta, grilling, fishing, relaxing with his family or playing with is dog. He’s also a movie and music connoisseur with Jazz & Hip hop at the top of his list.
His fashion sense and warm nature makes him a perfect part of any team.
On March 9, 2021, the NFL Network announced that Funchess had agreed to take a $750,000 pay cut to remain with the salary cap-strapped Packers.
