Denzel Mims was born October 10, 1997, in Dangerfield, Texas. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League.

In Daingerfield Mims attended Daingerfield High School. In high school he played both wide receiver and safety. He also played basketball and ran track. After his high school career he committed to Baylor to play wide receiver.

As a true freshman, Mims played 11 games and had 4 receptions for 24 yards. In his sophomore season, he was given the start in 11 of 12 games where he had 61 receptions for 1,087 yards and 8 TDs. As a junior, he started 10 games where he had 55 receptions for 794 yards and 8 TDs. After his junior year, Mims returned for his senior year where he started all 13 games and had 66 receptions for 1,020 yards and 12 TDs.

After college, he declared for the NFL Draft where he was taken 59th by the New York Jets. Mims was traded to the Detroit Lions in 2023.
