BIOGRAPHY
Christopher Hubbard was born on April 23, 1991, in Columbus, Georgia. He is an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL.
Hubbard played high school football at George Washington Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. He started at left tackle his junior and senior years as the team went 26–3 and won the 2007 Georgia High School Association Class AAA state championship. He was named to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer All-City team, the Associated Press Class AAA first-team All-State team and recorded 77 pancake blocks his senior year.
During college, Hubbard appeared in 40 games and made 29 starts at UAB. He started all 12 games as a senior in 2012, and as a junior in 2011, Hubbard played in eight games with four starts as a sophomore in 2010, helping the UAB offense register 5,074 net yards, which ranked as the second-highest total in team history at the time. Playing in eight games as a freshman in 2009 he was named to the Conference-USA All-Freshman team by the league's head coaches
On April 27, 2013, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Hubbard as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, spending the entire season on the Steelers' practice squad. By 2014 he made his NFL debut, appearing in one contest on September 21, at Carolina. During the 2015 season, Christopher played in seven games and both postseason matchups while on 2016 he appeared in 15 games with four starts, playing in all three playoff games. On October 9, the Jets Christopher made his first career start.
During the 2017 season, Hubbard set career highs in games played (16) and games started (10). He also played in Pittsburgh's only postseason game, being part of an offensive line that tied for the NFL's third-fewest sacks allowed with 24 and helped Ben Roethlisberger throw for the NFL's fourth-most completions (360) and fifth-most passing yards (4,251). Christopher also tied for the league's fifth-most passing touchdowns with 28, assisted Le' Veon Bell in registering an NFL-best 321 carries for the third-most yards (1,291) and tied for the third-most rushing scores with nine. His 321 carries and nine rushing touchdowns were also career highs. In 2018, he started at RT in all 16 games, playing every offensive snap and contributing to FG protect. He was a part of the stalwart of Browns' unit that did not allow a sack in five of the team's final seven games (three total, fewest allowed in NFL during Weeks 10-17). On September 9, vs. Pittsburg, Hubbard started at RT in Browns' debut, playing every offensive snap and contributing on special teams, helping the Browns rush for 177 yards, which ranked first in AFC and second in NFL during Week 1 (Washington, 182 yards).
Christopher Hubbard has walked in the National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk, supported the message of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) during Mental Health Awareness Week, raised awareness for NAMI for My Cause, My Cleats and participated in Shop with a Pro at Dick's Sporting Goods, as well as several other Browns events.
