BIOGRAPHY
Timothy Chad Hansen was born on January 18, 1995, in Fillmore, California. He studied at the University of California and is a wide receiver that has played in multiple teams throughout his NFL career such the NewYork Jets, the New England Patriots, the Tenessee Titans, the Denver Broncos and currently the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. In his early years, Hansen attended Moorpark High School where he was a two-way prep player who was a first-team All-Marmonte League and All-Ventura County choice as well as team MVP and team captain as a 2012 senior when he recorded 49 catches for 882 yards receiving and 12 touchdown grabs, averaging 18.0 yards per reception for a team that finished 8-3 overall.
After finishing high school, Hansen attended Idaho State in 2013, where he started and played in 11 of 12 games as a freshman and recorded 45 receptions for 501 yards to rank fourth on the team in both categories while adding three touchdown catches to rank third. He also contributed two rushes for 10 yards to total 511 all-purpose yards and had four receptions for an Idaho State career-high 138 yards receiving vs. Portland State including a career-long 80-yard touchdown reception, while he had an Idaho State career-best eight catches for 54 yards receiving vs. Eastern Washington. In 2014, Hansen transferred to California and in 2015, he registered two receptions for 11 yards in his first game at Cal in the season-opener against Grambling State. He had 19 receptions and 249 yards receiving while adding a single touchdown catch in 10 games and finished the season strong by combining for 14 receptions and 201 yards receiving with one touchdown catch over the final four games. Hansen picked up a season-high 91 yards receiving and all purpose-yards on four catches including a season-long 52-yarder to set up a Cal touchdown as well as his first career touchdown reception on a 16-yarder both in the third quarter of a comeback win over Arizona State in the regular-season finale.
As a junior in 2016, he earned the first-team All-Pac-12 honors from the Associated Press, Athlon Sports, ESPN.com and Phil Steele, as well as a second-team selection of the league's coaches. Hansen ranked third in the country in per-game receptions with 9.2 and fourth in receiving yards with 124.9 in 2016, while he was also 12th nationally in receptions with 92, 17th in receiving yards with 1,249 and tied for 22nd in touchdown receptions with 11 and finishing with 10 games played and nine starts. He led the Pac-12 in receiving yards per game, receptions per game, receptions and receiving yards while he was also fourth in the conference in touchdown catches and earned midseason All-American honors from ESPN and Sports Illustrated as well as midseason All-Pac-12 recognition from ESPN. Hansen was also added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List honoring the nation's top receiver after the season began and he finished the regular season on a tear with 28 catches for 409 yards and two touchdown receptions over his final three contests against Washington State, against Stanford and against UCLA.
After his senior season, Hansen decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft where he was selected in the fourth round by the New York Jets. On September 1, 2018, Hansen was waived by the Jets and on September 2, 2018, Hansen was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots but was waived by the team on September 10, 2018. On October 2, 2018, Hansen was signed to the Tenessee Titans practice squad and was released on October 15, 2018. Hansen then signed by the Denver Broncos practice squad on November 13, 2018. On January 2, 2019, Hansen was re-signed to reserve/future contract and on May 2, 2019, he was waived by the team. On June 11, 2019, Hansen was signed by the New Orleans Saints.
