BIOGRAPHY

Brandon Scherff was born on December 26th, 1991, in Denison, Iowa. He is an offensive guard in the NFL. 

During high school, Scherff was a two-way lineman, earning first-team all-state honors on offense as a senior after earning second-team all-state on defense as a junior. As a sophomore, he played quarterback, passing for 1,200 yards on the season.

Scherff played for the University of Iowa football team from 2010 to 2014. In 2011 Scherff saw action at left guard in eleven games on the season, starting three. In his sophomore year, he replaced Riley Reiff as the starting left tackle. He started the first seven games of the season at left tackle. In 2014 he started all 13 games at left tackle. Scherff was one of five players in the Big Ten West Division named to the Players to Watch list, was named to preseason Watch Lists for Rotary Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy, preseason first-team All-America by USA Today, BleacherReport.com, and College Sports Madness, preseason second-team All-America by SI.com, Athlon Sports and Phil Steele, preseason first-team All-Big Ten by Athlon Sports, Phil Steele, Sporting News, and College Sports Madness.

The Washington football team selected Scherff in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. On May 12, 2015, the Washington Redskins signed Scherff to a fully guaranteed four-year contract.   

In his free time, Brandon Scherff likes to hunt and fish.

In March 2022, he signed a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
