BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Thomas was born January 22, 1999, in Lithonia, Georgia. He is a tackle in the NFL.
He attended Pace Academy in Atlanta, where he had a an equal love for both football and instruments. At high school pep rallys, he would play the drums with the band and then suit up for a football game. After his high school career, he was invited to play at the Army-All American game. He decided to attend Georgia University to play football. He realized that it would be too demanding to play football and stick with his band. He ultimately chose football but still managed to teach himself how to play the piano.
In his freshman year playing football in 2017, Thomas started every game at right tackle which ended up awarding him with a Freshman All American award at the end of the season. In his sophomore season, he was asked to play left tackle and got injured in the 2nd game of the season against South Carolina. Thomas returned to play one game later, after missing the Middle Tennessee game. Later that season, he was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the week against Kentucky. At the end of the season he was named a first-team All American and to the first-team All-SEC after the season. In 2019 he was named First Team All-SEC again and was a Unanimous All-American. He was also awarded the Jacobs Blocking Trophy. After a very successful College Career, he went to the NFL Draft and was drafted by the Giants with the #4 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was the first offensive lineman taken off the board.
Thomas entered the 2021 season as the Giants starting left tackle. He suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 and was placed on injured reserve on October 19, 2021. On November 22, 2021, Thomas was activated from injured reserve. The same day, Thomas scored his first career touchdown, a two-yard reception, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Giants' Week 11 game. In February 2022, Thomas underwent surgery to repair the same left ankle that he had injured earlier in the season.
