Nerlens Noel was born on April 10, 1994, in Malden, Massachusetts. He is a power forward in the NBA.

His collegiate basketball career ended in his first season with a tear of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at the University of Kentucky. Noel was drafted with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. His rights were later traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. He plays center and power forward, and was one of the top high school basketball players in the class of 2012.

Son of Dorcina Noel. Has two older brothers and one younger sister. Favorite sports team outside of basketball is the New England Patriots. Enjoys playing video games. Lists Lil Uzi Vert as his favorite music artist and Will Smith as his favorite actor. The best moment of his career was making the NBA playoffs for the first time. Claims Denzel Washington as his celebrity look-alike. If he didn’t play basketball, he would be an FBI agent. Works with POWERforward International, Inc. in Haiti, which is a nonprofit organization that inspires underprivileged children to achieve more through education.

On November 25, 2020, Noel signed a one-year contract with the New York Knicks. On August 2, 2021, Noel re-signed with the Knicks, on a 3-years, $32 million deal.
