Juan David Mosquera was born September 5, 2002 in Cali, Colombia. He is a defender in Major League Soccer.

Juan Mosquera joined the Timbers in August 2022 after spending three seasons at Independiente Medellín in Colombia. The Cali, Colombia native registered three goals and three assists in 59 appearances across all competitions. He made his professional debut at 17 years old on Feb. 7, 2020, against Patriotas Boyaca, logging a 90-minute performance.

In the CONMEBOL region, he has featured in Copa Colombia, Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores tournaments. Most recently in 2022, the defender started in seven of eight appearances, including five 90-minute performances, for Independiente Medellín in Copa Sudamericana. Additionally, this year, Mosquera started in a 2-1 win against Tigres FC in Copa Colombia on May 5. As a youth international, Mosquera appeared with the Colombia U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2019 South American U-17 Championship in Lima, Peru and has also been named to the roster of Colombia’s U-20 training camps.
