Lumen Christi Baseball Facility Improvement Campaign

Lumen Christi has a storied baseball tradition with a total of 18 Districts Championships, 5 Regional Championships, and 2 State Championships. Over the last 10 years, the team has invested heavily into improving the playing surface, however the facility at large is in desperate need of improvements. Currently, the hill behind the stadium is eroding and is putting pressure on the visitor's dugout, causing it to crack under the pressure of the hill. This hill is also causing a safety issue for spectators as it is steep, uneven, and is not handicap accessible, leading to potential issues for the school under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Currently, the fencing also needs to be replaced, the outfield fence is currently 4-feet, which is below the 6-foot regulation requirement. Between the erosion of the hill, drainage issues, collapsing visitor's dugout, fencing, and lack of space for handicapped spectators, it is safe to say our facility is in desperate need of a face lift. This is why we need your help; our current goal is to raise a total of $250,000 in order to create a facility that is both safe and sustainable for the future of our program. The current plan is to even out the hill into which the stadium is built and create a large concrete retaining wall behind home plate, which will prevent future erosion and help the field to drain properly; avoiding cancelled games and preserving the playing surface for years to come. This wall will also serve as a place where spectators are able to enjoy watching the Titans play. The fencing will also be replaced with regulation-fencing so the field can host tournaments in the future, leading to future cash flow for the school and baseball program.
