Weekend Roundup: Lillard and Tatum ball and Scheffler Shines Again

| Posted 13 days ago

It was a jam-packed weekend of sports. NBA playoffs are underway, Scottie Scheffler continues his dominance at the RBC Heritage and the MLB is heating up.

The Boston Celtics beat the Jimmy Butler less Heat pretty convincingly. It's hard to imagine the Celtics not making it to the NBA finals...They're stacked. It felt like every shot they put up went in. The Celtics made 22 three pointers on their way to route the Heat 114-94. The Giannis less Bucks beat the Indiana Pacers 109-94. Dame Dolla did Dame Dolla things putting up 35 points and holding it down for the Bucks while Giannis is out. My LA Lakers lost too the Denver Nuggets and I don't feel good about us advancing past them. I know it;s only 1 game but we're talking about the Nuggets. Jokic had 32 and Jamal Murray had 22 and the Lakers role players decided to stay in LA while LeBron and AD went to Denver. D'Angelo Russell shot 6-20 which can't happen if the Lakers have any chance of winning game 2. The Cavs, Timberwolves, Knicks, Clippers and Thunder all got wins in game 1 of their series.

Scottie Scheffler won the RBC heritage going back-to-back. His golf dominance continues after winning the Masters a week ago. Scottie finished 19-under and made a cool $3.6.

The NBA announced its finalists for the in-season awards and Victor Wembanyama is up for rookie of the year and defensive player of the year. Jokic is a finalist for MVP for the 4th straight season and Rudy Gobert is a finalist for Defensive player of the year. In my opinion, Anthony Davis was snubbed and if you ask him, he agrees.

The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians continue to be the hottest teams in baseball. Both getting wins this weekend. What's up with the Dodgers? After the off season spending spree they're 13-11 and 3-7 in their last 10.

And last but not least, Ryan Garcia upset Devin Haney after missing weight for the WBC title fight. Even though Garcia won in stunning fashion, he doesn't get the belt because he missed weight. A rematch is on the horizon and I'm here for it.
