BIOGRAPHY
Zach Sieler was born on September 7th, 1995, in Howell, Michigan. He plays defensive end for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. In his early years, Sieler attended Pinckney High School where he played football and also competed in wrestling and track & field. He tabbed as the school's Athlete of the Year as a senior and also was an all-conference honoree and a team captain. In wrestling, he advanced to state wrestling championships.
After he finished high school, Sieler committed to the University of Ferris State after he redshirted during the 2013 season, he was added depth during the 2014 season and was a member of FSU's GLIAC Championship & NCAA Playoff squad. Sieler played in 11 games, seeing considerable action on the defensive line, where he had 17 tackles with eight solo stops on the year. He also finished with 7.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. In 2015, Sieler finished with a total of 80 tackles and also forced five fumbles and had two fumble recoveries while appearing in all 15 games. He ranked among the national leaders with 29.5 tackles for loss and 16.5 sacks, was an All-GLIAC First Team honoree and earned GLIAC's Defensive Lineman of the Year honor. Sieler was also a Consensus All-American and all-region choice and was a member of FSU squad that won a second-straight GLIAC Championship and reached the NCAA Division II Playoffs in 2015. In 2016, Sieler was a Preseason All-American and he helped lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II National Semifinals. He also earned National Defensive Player of the Year honors from at least one source.
After he graduated from college, Sieler entered the 2018 NFL Draft where he was selected in the seventh round by the Baltimore Ravens. On August 31, 2019, Sieler was waived by the Ravens and was signed to the practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster on October 5, 2019. He was waived on December 4, 2019. On December 5, 2019, Sieler was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins. On April 17, 2020, Sieler was re-signed to a one-year contract by the Dolphins. He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on July 31, 2020, and was activated six days later. On November 16, 2020, the Dolphins signed Sieler to a three-year contract extension through the 2023 season.
