Will Harris

BIOGRAPHY

Will Harris was born on December 19, 1995, in Suwanee, Georgia. He is a corner back in the National Football League.

Harris studied at the University of Boston and is a defensive end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. In his early years, Harris attended Choate Rosemary Hall High School where he was named the 2014 NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year and also earned NEPSAC Class A Division All-Star and First-Team All-New England honors. As a senior, he was named team captain, where he recorded 77 tackles, 20 pass breakups, and three interceptions and also tallied 650 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on offense. He helped lead the Wild Boars to the 2014 NEPSAC Bowl Championship title.

After he finished high school, Harris committed to the University of Boston where as a freshman in 2015, he saw action in all 12 games, including three starts at strong safety to close the season and had a combined 20 tackles, forced one fumble and made one interception. He recorded his first career interception in the season opener against Maine on September 5 and on October 31 against Virginia Tech, he recorded a career-high five-tackle game and one forced fumble. As a sophomore in 2016, Harris started all 13 games at strong safety, recorded 47 total tackles, including 34 solo stops and notched one tackle-for-loss and four breakups. He had two interceptions with 64 return yards and was part of the defense that ranked on eight top 10 lists, including ninth in total defense with 314.2 yards per game, second in sacks with 3.62 sacks per game and 10th in turnovers gained with 27. recorded his first interception of the season against Massachusetts on September 10 and on October 1, he registered his first career tackle for a loss against Buffalo. 

As a junior in 2017, Harris started all 13 games at strong safety and led the nation with four fumble recoveries. He was third on the team with 83 tackles and had 5.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two pass breakups, and one sack. He had a career-high 10 tackles in his 17th consecutive start at strong safety in the victory at Northern Illinois on September 1 and led BC with nine tackles and two TFLs against Wake Forest on September 9. Harris had six tackles, one sack, one pass breakup and his first interception of the season in BC’s 41-10 win at Virginia on October 21 and on November 25, he was named the ACC Co-Defensive Back of the Week after totaling seven tackles and recovering two fumbles at Syracuse. In his senior season in 2018, Harris was an All-ACC Third Team and was voted a captain by his teammates for 2018. He grabbed his first interception of the season and totaled eight tackles at Wake Forest on September 13. 

After he graduated from college, Harris entered the 2019 NFL Draft where he was selected in the third round by the Detroit Lions.
