BIOGRAPHY
Weston Robert Schweitzer was born on September 11, 1993, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is an offensive guard in the National Football League.
During high school, as a senior, was an all-state selection by multiple outlets and was a first-team all-city and all-region player and helped win more than three straight state championships in Arizona.
During his freshman season in 2012, Schweitzer played in seven games and was a starter at left tackle for the Colorado State victory (9/22). He was named the team's Scholar-Athlete at the team's annual awards banquet. In 2013 during his sophomore season, Schweitzer was one of three offensive linemen to play and start all 12 games. He was a vital member of an offensive line that helped set a school-record 493.2 yards of total offense per game. Schweitzer provided consistent pass protection that allowed one sack every 23.6 pass attempts - an improvement of 5.6 more passes between sacks compared to 2012.
In 2014 during his junior season, Schweitzer was the most experienced offensive lineman on the team, he played and started each of the 12 games. He was part of an offense that completed 60 percent of its passes for the fourth year in a row. Schweitzer was named the team's Scholar-Athlete for the third year in a row at the squad's annual awards banquet.
On his last season, as a senior in 2015, Schweitzer was elected team captain before the start of the season. He started all 13 games to extend his consecutive games starting streak to 37. Schweitzer anchored the offensive line at left tackle that was the second in school history to pave the way for 2,000-plus rushing yards and 20-plus touchdowns and 2,000-plus passing yards and 20 touchdowns. Schweitzer was rated one of the top-10 offensive tackles by ProFootballFocus.com during the season. He was named the Outstanding Offensive Lineman at the team’s annual awards banquet.
On April 30, 2016, Schweitzer was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round in the 2016 NFL Draft. Schweitzer signed a four-year contract with the Falcons on May 5.
On March 24, 2020, Schweitzer signed with the Washington Football Team, then known as the Redskins prior to a name change later that offseason. Schweitzer signed with the New York Jets in 2023.
