BIOGRAPHY
Tavierre Thomas was born on Mach 11th, 1996, in Detroit, Michigan. He is a cornerback for in the National Football League.
During high school, he attended Detroit Allen Academy in Michigan. He earned all-state accolades as a junior and senior.
In college, Thomas appeared in 45 games for the Ferris State University Bulldogs, totaling 175 total tackles, 14 INTs and 35 passes defensed for his career. He was named first-team Division II All-American in both 2016-17, along with first-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference during the same time frame. He played in five games during his first season.
He notched 60 tackles, four INTs and a career-high 18 passes defensed in 2017, earning the 2017 GLIAC Defensive Back of the Year Award. Thomas started all 15 games as a junior in 2016, leading the Bulldogs with a career-high six INTs. During his tenure at Ferris State, the Bulldogs claimed back-to-back GLIAC Championships in 2014 and 2015.
Thomas was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2018, and waived by the team on September 1. On September 2, 2018, Thomas was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns. Thomas made his NFL debut on September 9, 2018, during the Browns season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. During the Browns' Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Thomas downed a punt by Britton Colquitt inside the Buccaneers one-yard line, setting up a safety by Browns defensive tackle Trevon Coley. As rookie Thomas played in 13 games, mostly on special teams, and tied for the team lead with seven special teams tackles (eight overall).
Thomas signed with the Houston Texans in 2023.
