BIOGRAPHY
Tashawn Alexander Bower was born on February 18th, 1995, in Livingston, New Jersey, he played defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings and currently is a free agent in the NFL. Bower attended Immaculata High School and played college football at the Louisiana State University.
During high school, Bower finished his senior season with 95 total tackles, 16 tackles for losses, 11 sacks, seven pass breakups and three forced fumbles. He was rated as a four-star recruit by ESPN.com, Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247sports.com.
Bower played for the University of Southern Mississippi football team from 2013 to 2016. As a freshman in 2013, Bower recorded three tackles in six games played as a true freshman. As a sophomore in 2014, Bower played in 13 games with no starts, he collected 16 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss in helping LSU’s defense lead the SEC in total defense (316.8 yards per game) and pass defense (164.2 yards per game). As a sophomore in 2015, Bower made three starts at defensive end and saw action in nine games. He recorded 18 tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble and broke up a pass at Alabama. As a senior in 2016, Bower had his best season with the Tigers after transitioning from his primary position of defensive end to a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end. He played in all 12 games with four starts. He managed to record 23 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks, added a pass breakup and five quarterback hurries.
Bower signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017. On October 29, he made his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns, seeing action on special teams. On November 19, in his second game played, he saw his first defensive action of his career against the Los Angeles Rams and recorded his first career sack. Tashawn Alexander Bower is currently a free agent.
On November 21, 2019, Bower was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on January 7, 2020.
