BIOGRAPHY
Sebastian Joseph-Day was born on March 21th, 1995 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He is a nose tackle in the NFL.
He attended Stroudsburg high school where he picked up 25 tackles and six sacks as a junior as part of a defensive unit that held opponents to an average of 13.4 points per game. As a senior he totaled 40 tackles - with 17 for loss - to go with two forced fumbles; he helped lead the Mountaineers to back-to-back Mountain Valley Conference champions with a 10-2 record in his final season.
He played college football for Rutgers University; in 2013 he appeared in one game, recording a TFL on first career tackle in collegiate debut against Norfolk State. He received a medical redshirt.
In 2014 he played in all 13 games on the defensive line and registered three total tackles on the season. As a sophomore in 2015, started all 12 games at nose tackle and was one-of-22 in the program to be named Academic All-Big Ten. He finished third on the team with 5.5 TFL and totaled 22 tackles on the season.
In 2016 as a junior, he played in all 12 games with 11 starts at nose tackle; he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten list. He made 30 tackles on the season with 3.5 for loss, 1.0 sack, one forced fumble and one blocked field goal.
As a senior in 2017, started all 12 games at nose tackle and was named honorable mention All-Big Ten in the coaches’ vote. He split the Homer Hazel Award for the team’s MVP, he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten list for the third-straight year, and was honored as the team’s recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. He totaled 41 tackles with 4.5 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass batted down, and one forced fumble one blocked field goal.
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Joseph-Day in the sixth round (195th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
In March of 2022, Joseph-Day signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.
On December 27, 2023, Joseph-Day signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
