BIOGRAPHY
Sean Murphy-Bunting was born on June 19, 1997, in Macomb, Michigan. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
He studied at the University of Central Michigan and is a cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. In his early years, Bunting attended Chippewa Valley High School where he started playing football. After finishing high school, Bunting committed to the University of Central Michigan to play college football.
In 2016, Bunting started all 13 games for the Chippewas with on start and recording 18 total tackles on the season with 12 solo tackles. He finished tying for third on the team with two interceptions and on September 17 he made a solo tackle and intercepted a pass versus UNLV. As a sophomore in 2017, Bunting started all 13 games and was second on the team with five interceptions in which all five of his picks came in the final four games. He shared the team lead with 10 passes defended and was second on the team with five pass breakups. He also recorded 46 tackles, 31 of them solos and totaled a career-high nine tackles at Ohio on October 7. In 2018, he was named to All-Mid-American Conference First Team defense as a cornerback and earned the Chippewas Defensive Player of the Year Award. Bunting ended the 2018 season appearing in 12 games, starting 11 and recording 37 tackles, 26 of them solos. He also made three tackles-for-loss for eight yards and recorded two interceptions, tied for most on the team.
After graduating from college, Bunting entered the 2019 NFL Draft and was selected in the second round of the draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Murphy-Bunting signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2023.
